The Centre is ready to fund even a Defence Park in Coimbatore considering the potential of the region, senior BJP leader and Chairman of Coir Board, C.P. Radhakrishnan, said here today. He was responding to a request for setting up a Defence cluster in Coimbatore.
Inaugurating the two-day National ‘Vendor Development Programme-cum-Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) Expo’, he said MSME.

Emphasising the importance of quality, he said that the quality of products would decide the future of Indian MSMEs in the global market. “There should be no compromise on quality. Quality will automatically increase the scale of sale,” said Mr. Radhakrishnan.
The expo is jointly organised by MSME - Development Institute in association with the Coimbatore Sidco Industrial Estate Manufacturers' Association (COSIEMA).
As many as 82 MSMEs exhibited their machining facilities along with 20 major outsourcing companies, buyers and PSUs. 20 nationalised banks also participated.
Adverting to the criticism of opposition parties regarding the "handling" of the Tamil Nadu State Government by the Central Government, he said that the Centre would continue to work with the State Government no matter what others say.
Mr. Radhakrishnan pointed out that States still had "individual" powers. “The Centre does not wish to control any State Government. Each state has its own rights to exercise its powers according to the Constitution. The Centre’s job is to facilitate support through various development schemes,” he opined.
The Centre would always be ready to appreciate good works and criticise wrong practices of the State governments, he further added.
