Man arrested for sending obscene videos to wife's father

A 36-year-old man was arrested by the city police on Thursday for sending obscene videos of his wife to his father-in- law's mobile.

The arrested person was identified as M Kuppusamy from Jai Nagar, Vadakkipalayam Pirivu in Tirupur district. His 27-year-old wife lodged a complaint with Kuniyamuthur police on Thursday. In her complaint she said ten years ago, she married Kuppusamy. Her husband had taken video of them being intimate, which he stored in his mobile phone. Due to some misunderstanding, the couple separated two years ago. Since then, the woman has been living with her parents.

A desperate Kuppusamy allegedly sent the obscene video to his father-in-law while he continued to threaten his wife. Unable to bear his torture she approached the police. Based on the complaint, Kuniyamuthur police registered a case against Kuppusamy under Section 498 (A) (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code and section 67 of Information Technology Act.
