Coimbatore, Nov. 29
"The central government has been extending financial assistance to the state government for several projects including the Smart City project.
But it is shocking to note that the State Government has not bothered to appoint even the Chief Executive Officer for the project", H. Raja, National Secretary of BJP, alleged here today.

Talking to the media, he iterated "The state government should make use of the assistance provided by the Centre appropriately."
He lamented that the poor functioning of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department had led to the Chennai floods.
"The ancient Pambanswamy Temple in Chennai has been kept sealed for a long time. No daily poojas are being conducted at the temple. This has been causing frequent destruction in Chennai in the form of floods", he contended.
He also regretted "allegations are rife that the state officials have been demanding bribe from the people for sanctioning welfare schemes like free toilets".
