Police personnel succumbs to dengue

Coimbatore, Nov. 28

Ramar (39) from Uppligundu Village, Madurai, who was attached to the the District Arms and Ammunitions Transport Division here, succumbed to dengue at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) today. 

On November 22, Ramar was admitted to CMCH with complaints of incessant fever. The doctors confirmed it was dengue and shifted him to the special dengue care ward. Ramar succumbed to the illness today. 

Though incidents of dengue have considerably declined, the death of a police personnel has alarmed the people. 

Ramar was assigned as a special guard for Minister SP Velumani.
