Coimbatore, Nov. 17
Shri Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community, has been spearheading an agitation against the release of 'Padmavathi', a Hindi feature film by renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Alleging that Queen Padmavathi's history has been wrongly picturised in the movie, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the President of the organisation, on Friday told the press that the party intended to intensify the protests if the State and the Central government stayed silent.
Mr. Gogamedipresided over a meeting here in this connection. "It's an insult to the culture and the great legacy of Queen Padmavathi. We would intensify the protests, if the movie is screened", Mr. Suhkdev said.
The movie is set for December 1 release.
