Transgenders to be imparted skill training

Coimbatore, Nov. 17

In a bid to better the lives of transgenders, a free skill and entrepreneurship development training programme to make them self-reliant will be organised here on Nov 17.

The programme is jointly organised by the district administration, district employment exchange and welfare department. Along with free skill development training, the transgenders will also be offered a free health check-up, said a press release.

Based on the interests of the transgenders, training would be imparted to them. Such trainings would embolden them to lead a dignified life and help them merge with the mainstream. The trainers will guide the transgenders to start small income-generating businesses to keep them self-reliant. The skill training camp would be flagged off by Ms. Saranya, Deputy Collector (training), at Corporation Kalayana Mandapam, Ramalinga Colony.
