Coimbatore, November 16: "There is nothing 'fishy' about Governor's meeting with officials", Dindigul C Sreenivasan, Minister for Forests, who was here today in connection with MGR centenary celebration.
Briefing the media on the plans for making the MGR centenary celebration a memorable one, the Minister said "It has been the dream of 'Puratchi Thalaivi' Amma to host a series of celebrations across the state as a mark of tribute to MGR".
Commenting on the political outcry over Governor's string of meetings with top officials in Coimbatore, the Minister said "There is nothing to speculate about the matter. Mr. Purohit during his previous stints has held many such meetings. His earnest involvement in 'clean India' campaign could have urged him to gather better insights about the city he is visiting", he added.
"And definitely it's not an act of prying into the state administration", he asserted.
Responding to the repeated allegations of corruption against the AIADMK, the Minister said "Well, Mr. Pon Radhakrishnan or Mrs. Vanathi Srinivasan's accusation regarding our governance is as usual "baseless". AIADMK always has and will continue to be the 'favoured' party among the masses".
The Minister noted that the 25-year-old elephant that died in Anaikatti a couple of days back was given utmost care and treatment.
