Governor's discussion with officials creates furore

Coimbatore, Nov. 14

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who was here today to attend the 34th Convocation of Bharathiar University, interacted with the District Collector to learn about the developmental activities in the city. This has triggered a furore among the political circles as they considered it an"interference" in the functioning of the State Government.

"It's unusual", commented Thol. Thirumavalavan, chief of Vidudhalai Siruthaigal Katchi.

Countering this, Tamilisai Soundarajan, State President of BJP, said "Political parties should refrain from creating a hullaballoo  over this. It's absolutely normal for a Governor to discuss city's developments with the administrators during his visit".

Following the convocation, the Governor had a meeting with the administration officials from the city, including District Collector, and Corporation Commissioner at the Circuit House here.
