Mr.K. Periaiah, IPS, will take over as Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore, in place of Dr. A. Amalraj, IPS, who is transferred to Tiruchi as Commissioner of Police, an official release said. It added that the transfers will come into immediate effect.
Mr. Periaiah was earlier in Greater Chennai as Inspector General of Police /Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic.
Dr. Amalraj has been the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner since November 2015.
