About 35 faculty and 31 Ph.D. Scholars from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University ( TNAU ) , Coimbatore, participated in the four-day workshop on “Planning, Executing and Writing an International Quality Ph.D. Thesis and Original Research Papers”.
Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, inaugurated the workshop here on Monday.

Delivering the inaugural address, he said "TNAU was established as the 17th agricultural university in India. At present, it is one of the leading agriculture universities in India. The university is marching ahead to create greater impact by publishing its findings in the global arena of Agricultural sciences for which purpose such a workshop is being organized".
"TNAU ranks first in India in terms of the total number of NET qualified students and has secured 4th position in Journal citation index and third position in H-Index ratings with world class insect museum and molecular laboratories, " he added. The Vice-Chancellor exhorted the students to be " self confident, positive and execute research work in a systematic and focused manner to achieve success in their research endeavour".
Dr. U. Sivakumar, Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies (SPGS), TNAU, stated that "The trainees of this workshop would become trainers to train the remaining faculty and students of the university. This attempt would further improve the ranking of TNAU and help get global recognition".

The workshop was jointly organized by the School of Post Graduated Studies, TNAU, Madras Agricultural Students’ Union (MASU), Coimbatore, and Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai.
The course manual for the workshop was released by the Vice-Chancellor and received by Dr. D. Sudhakar, Registrar, TNAU. More than 300 students and faculty members of TNAU participated in the inaugural function.
