City Corporation's website gets a facelift!

Coimbatore, Nov 12: To make it more 'interactive' and 'citizen friendly', the City Corporation has  refurbished its  website by adding more vital information. The website can be accessed at https://www.ccmc.gov.in/

"As people prefer to lodge complaints or access information through digital interface, this new make-over of the website will help bridge the gap between the citizens and the city corporation" said a release from the Corporation.

Signature campaigns of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) , like Swachhata, Plastic-free city and more can be followed from the website. Important updates and progress of smart city can also be found in the site.

Recently, "CCMC Central" , a greivance app was released by the corporation to allow the public to register their complaints and also track follow-up details along with the name of the official designated to handle the isuue.

Sharing his view on this new website and the app, a social activist from the city said "Every now and then such redressal apps sprouts up but over a time they fade out.  Initially the officials would attend to the issues promptly. However,  over a period , these apps would get crippled. Especially after the concerned officials get transferred the whole process dissipates".

"It's more of an 'advertisement stunt'! What about the  weaker sections of the city who  have no idea or access to data connections or sophiscated phones to accomodate such grievance apps?,"  he wondered.
