Freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

New Delhi, Nov 11 (PTI) Freight rates for the nine-tonne payload section for select destinations dropped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following insufficient cargo movements amid ample position of trucks.

Transporters said besides large position of trucks in the market, tight cargo movements mainly led to fall in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Mysore, Coimbatore, Kochi and Chennai freight rates declined by Rs 1000 each to Rs 64,000, Rs 68,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs 63,000 respectively.

Freights to Guwahati, Kolkata, and Patna also moved down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 24,000.
