Coimbatore, Nov 11: City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj today issued orders to book a prisoner under the Goondas Act.
Arath Nizar (22) from Sugunapuram, Kuniamuthur, was remanded for chain snatching. Since 2015, he is alleged to have been involved in chain snatching cases involving 17 sovereign of gold from women at several locations. While, scrutinising his previous records it was found that Nizar had been involved in many unlawful activities.
Consequently, he has been booked under the Goondas Act.
