Lavanya Sankar’s Abhyasa Academy of Classical Dance, Coimbatore has been conferring the title ’Abhyasa Nritya Vardhini’ on well-known exponents of Bharatanatyam since the year 2010. This year’s title was given to Lavanya Mavillapalli and Lasya Mavillapalli, daughters and disciples of renowned dance gurus Sri Narasimhachari and Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari for their excellent contribution to the growth of this art form. Smt. Lakshmi Viswanathan, dancer, choreographer and writer was the chief guest for this colourful function that was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Auditorium, on November 4th, 2017. Later, Lavanya’s students made a Bharatanatyam presentation on the theme ‘Pancha Tatttva’.
