Coimbatore, Nov 5: The traffic cops who were caught red-handed taking bribe have been suspended.
On November 2, Chinnaraj, Sub-Inspector, Kanagaraj, Head Constable, and Srinivasan, Driver from Traffic Investigation Wing, were on duty at Kallipalayam here. The cops stopped a poultry truck and demanded bribe from the truck driver. They were caught red-handed by Superintendent of Police, P. Moorthy who was passing by that way.
As they confessed to their crime, the issue was conveyed to City Police Commissioner A.Amalraj. The erring cops were warned and transferred to the Reserve Police wing with immediate effect. After investigating the issue, the Commissioner today ordered suspension of all the three police personnel.
