Draped in mosquito nets, DMK youth wing petitions Collector

Coimbatore, Oct 30: Draped in mosquito nets, the cadre of the youth wing of DMK submitted a petition to the District Collector alleging the failure of City Corporation to maintain good sanitary standards in the city.

Abbas, District Secretary of DMK Youth Wing, alleged that the rise in dengue deaths is due to the substandard sanitary conditions prevailing in the city. He also pointed out that the situation in Kottaimedu area was miserable. The garbage and open ditches have become breeding grounds for Aedes, the dengue-spreading mosquito.

"Hence, we have come wearing mosquito nets to remind the officials concerned about the the slackness in administration", the petitioners said.

Their 'mosquito net' attire was successful in getting them attention.
