Inspection of school buses on May 7 and 10

In accordance to the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles (Regulation and Control of School Buses) Special Rules, 2012 to ensure safe journey of the students, a district-level committee will inspect school buses in the city at special drives that will be conducted on May 7 and 10.

The inspections will begin at 8 a.m. and will be at the Police Recruits School (PRS) Ground.

According to a release from Regional Transport Officer, Coimbatore Central, buses and other transport vehicles of schools attached to RTO offices in Coimbatore Central, South and Sulur should be brought for inspection on May 7. Similarly those vehicles attached to Coimbatore North and West transport offices should be brought for inspection on May 10.

The release adds that along with the vehicles the schools should also produce required documents, including Parent Teachers’ Association register and Transport Committee register. Only vehicles that obtained clearance from the inspection committee will be permitted to operate.
