2500 candidates from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra participated in the recruitment drive for 11 posts in the 110th battalion of the Indian army that started this morning.

There are 8 vacancies for the post of soldiers and 3 for conservatory staff in the 110th battalion. An enlistment camp was conducted to fill the vacancies for the above posts. And the camp started this morning. They were tested for physical fitness involving height and chest measurement.

The officers felt that the large number of participants for just 11 vacancies shows that there is an increased interest among the youth in joining the army.
