Coimbatore Collector T.N.Hariharan inspected the Dengue eradication activities at Theethipalayam Panchayat today (22.10.17).
In connection with the intensified war against dengue in Coimbatore district, the Collector made a surprise visit to Theethipalayam Panchayat and inspected their activities regarding cleanliness and sanitation. Visiting every house there, he instructed the workers who accompanied him, to destroy the potential causes that spawned Aedes mosquito larvae in those houses. He also asked them to ensure that the stipulated ratio of chlorine is mixed with the drinking water supplied by the local bodies.
He insisted that a complete mass cleaning should be undertaken in the rural areas and plastic waste dumped in the vacant places must be totally removed. Awareness must be created among the public regarding the dengue fever and about the potential places where the mosquito larvae thrive. He also informed that such early morning field surveys would be undertaken in the local areas and the officers must make sure that the cleanliness and hygiene in their areas are safeguarded.
