Field events for the senior citizens commenced at the Nehru stadium here today.
Those in the age group of 35-80 are participating in this annual event organised by the Coimbatore District Seniors Athletic Association.
As many as 10 events including sprint, javelin throw, shotput, etc. are conducted based on the age.
According to the organisers 250 men and 60 women are taking part in the events.
