Valparai has been witness to elephant attacks not only on farms but also houses, quarters of estate workers and offices during the past few months.
On Friday night also, the training centre of the Forest Department at Nallamudi area in Valparai suffered huge losses when some wild elephants virtually demolished the walls. Besides, they damaged the furniture including chair and table. They were driven into the forest by the department personnel later.
Last week, similar incident took place at Sangili road in which not only the furniture but also the TV and bureau were also damaged.
