Even as there are reports of 50 people dying due to dengue in various hospitals of Coimbatore district over a period, 49 are undergoing treatment for the same infection at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
According to official sources, they include 26 men, 19 women, two boys and two girls.
All of them have been admitted to a separate ward and are being given intensive treatment, Dr.R.Soundaravel, Resident Medical Officer, said.
