The contract sanitary workers of the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, who have been on strike for the past two days, have called it off.
These workers numbering more than 100 have been demanding bonus, and also salary as per law.
Due to their strike, the entire corporation area saw heaps of garbage strewn everywhere.
Conciliation talks between the corporation and the workers' representatives were held in the presence of the Labour Officer Lakshminarayanan on Friday and he instructed the corporation to settle the issue within 21 days.
Then the workers reported for duty this morning.
