ICSE and ISC results 2016: Chennai, Coimbatore students are state-level toppers

COIMBATORE: Five students in Chennai were the toppers in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations this year while a Coimbatore student topped the ICSE, the results of which were published on Friday. The other two ICSE toppers were from Chennai and Vellore.

Four out of the top five ranks went to Sishya, Chennai, and one topper was from The School, KFI, Chennai.

Roshini Chandrashekar of Sishya topped the state in the ISC examination with a score of 98.75% (English + best of three subjects). Deborah Yazhini C of Sishya and Aparna Shankar of The School stood second with 98.25%, while Advaith Ramkumar and Raahul Jagananathan of Sishya shared the third position with 98%.

In the ICSE category, Kailaeshwari N of Stanes School in Coimbatore topped the state with 98.6% (English+ best four subjects).

Shruthi Ravishankar of Vael's International School, Chennai, bagged the second position with 98.4%, and Keerthana Inian from Ida Scudder School, Vellore, stood third with 97.8%.

A total of 725 students (412 boys and 313 girls) from 30 schools appeared for the ISC exam this year, and 2,975 students (1,641 boys and 1,334 girls) from 70 schools appeared for the ICSE examination. The ISC pass percentage was 98.90% while it was 99.90% when it comes to ICSE.
