Several parts of the body of a brain-dead woman of Tirupur have been donated.
According to sources, Banumathi, 30, wife of Mahendran, an electrician, is alleged to have attempted to hang herself on October 18th following domestic issues. The couple has two daughters. She was admitted to a private hospital here where it was identified that her brain was dead on October 19th.
Subsequently, her relatives came forward to donate her organs. While her heart was was donated to a private hospital in Chennai, a kidney was donated to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
Besides, it has been decided to donate her eyes, liver and also another kidney to the same private hospital.
