To promote the State’s tourism potential in the International and domestic market and to increase the footfall of tourists in the state, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched "CII Tamil Nadu Travel Mart".

The CII, in association with the Tamil Nadu Travel Mart Society and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu, has organised the first edition of "CII Tamil Nadu Travel Mart" (TTM).
"To showcase this initiative to the tourism sector across the globe, a grand Inaugural Ceremony was organized on the shores of Mamallapuram. The state was projected under the four major dynasties namely Chera, Chola, Pandya and Pallava - the architects of the present Tamil Nadu" says a press statement from CII.
The press statement further states that "TTM, focuses on promoting the State’s tourism potential across the world to attract more Tourism footfall to the state that will benefit the tourism and related industry. The first edition of CII Tamil Nadu Travel Mart will have 160 sellers (Exhibitors) from Tamil Nadu and 700 plus domestic exhibitors and international buyers from 34 countries (Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Netherlands, UAE, UK, Ukraine, USA, Zimbabwe etc.).
Vellamandi N Natarajan, Minister - Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the exhibition which enabled 4000 B2B meetings over a course of 2 days. Apurva Varma, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department and Palanikumar, IAS, Commissioner of Tourism and Chairman & Managing Director, TTDC, took part in the function.
This initiative will also enable further tourism growth in the state with the help of the Central and the State Government in terms of sponsoring and branding Tamil Nadu in the global tourism industry."
