To contain the spread of dengue fever in the hill town of Valparai, Neela vembu decoction was distributed at Valparai bus stand by volunteers.
In the event organized by Valparai Legal Aid Authority and Primary Health Centre, Justice Arumugam took part and distributed the health tonic to the members of public.
Explaining the pathology of the vector- borne fever and how to protect oneself from it, Justice Arumugam said that the viral infection could be avoided by destroying the breeding sites of mosquitoes and increasing ones immunity level by adopting healthy food habits.
"Neela vembu decoction is widely tipped as the anti -dengue health tonic to guard against the dengue infection for it increases the platelet count of a person " the judge said.
The health tonic which guards against dengue was distributed to tourists, school children bus drivers, tourist taxi operators, business men, and residents on the occasion.
