The deathly onslaught of dengue continues unabated this season as death toll has risen to a total of 47 with the death of 6-year-old girl from Gobichettipalayam succumbing to the vector borne viral fever today evening at Government Medical College Hospital.
Six year Anushree, daughter of Vivekanandan of Nanjegoundanpalayam near Gopichettipalayam died at the hospital today.
The girl who was studying first standard at a local school contracted dengue fever and was transferred to Government Medical college Hospital, a couple of days back from the Government hospital at Gopichettipalayam.
The virulent form of dengue has so far claimed 47 lives including 27 patients from Coimbatore district, 12 Tiruppur district and 8 others hailing from other districts in Tamilnadu.
