A disaster reduction live demo was organized at the collectorate campus in view of the International Day of Disaster Reduction being observed today all over the world.
Fire and Rescue personnel demonstrated the disaster management, prevention and mitigation measures, evacuation techniques during natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
Natural and man- made disasters have been claiming many lives and loss of property around the world.
School and college students have been imparted training on vital disaster management techniques through demos organized taluk- wise by the Fire and Rescue department in association with District disaster management committee.
This year’s motto for the international day is reduction of the number of affected people due to disasters.
