Principal Sessions’ court, which sent Suber, of Saibaba colony, one of the key accused in Sasikumar murder case, yesterday to judicial custody till October 26 has accorded permission to CB (CID) police to take him under 7 day police custody for interrogation.
He was arrested by the CB (CID) police near Kinathukadavu.
The Court has asked the police to produce him before the court on October 20 by 5 pm.
Sasikumar, district spokesperson for Hindu Munnani, was waylaid and hacked to death by an armed gang on September 22, 2016 near GN Mills. The investigation has gained momentum with the arrest of Suber and another of his accomplice Saddam Hussain, all of whom have gone underground for months together.
Suber was surrounded when he came to visit his wife near Kinathukadavu railway gate on the wee hours of Thursday.
The police also made a breakthrough in the case when it arrested Saddam Hussain, another key accused, near Karumathampatti from his hideout a couple of months ago.
