Police arrested Robert Chacko, a quack from Ramanathapuram area in the city, who duped patients with false promise of treating and curing dengue fever in straight 3 days.
Chandrasekhar, Joint Director of Public Health who raided the clinic, Sun life Health solution run by Robert Chacko, found out that the quack had no formal medical qualification but was a graduate in economics who took to practicing allopathy medicine and took patients for a ride.
Following the complaint by the Joint director Police arrested Robert Chacko, and he was remanded in custody.
“The quack wanted to make a quick buck and so he had advertised his dubious claims. People should not fall prey to quacks and should check the credentials of the physicians before visiting them. So far eight such quack have been arrested and their clinics closed down in the city in recent months” said Dr.Chandrasekhar.
