City Corporation Deputy Commissioner P. Gandhimathi inspected the anti-dengue measures carried out by sanitary staff in 23 ward of the civic body.
Accompanied by Health officials, she inspected the DBC workers mixing abate solution to prevent larval growth in wells and water storing containers in households in Flower market and Shanmuga theatre areas.
Instructing the householders to steer clear of dengue infection by adopting fool-proof methods by destroying mosquito breeding sites, by tightly closing containers and emptying fridge can almost every day without fail she said Aedes aegypti, a day-biting mosquito breeds in fresh water and the breeding of it could be prevented by closing the stored water cans properly.
"Rain waters collected in Empty tires, coconut shells and other places are potential breeding grounds too, which should be destroyed" P.Gandhimathi said.
