Rahul to address in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai on May 7

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will be on a whirlwind campaign tour for the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu in support of DMK-Congress alliance candidates, TNCC President E.V.K.S. Elangovan, said today.

Gandhi will address an election meeting, along with DMK Treasurer M.K. Stalin on May 7 and come down to Coimbatore and Madurai the same day, to attend election meetings, Elangovan told reporters here.

He, along with Congress party candidates and senior leaders, were here to inspect the VOC Grounds where Gandhi was scheduled to address.

There was also a proposal to campaign in Tirunelveli and Nagercoil, he said. Congress President Sonia Gandhi will share the dais with DMK Chief Karunanidhi in a meeting scheduled in Chennai on May 5, he said. When asked about the prospects for the alliance, Elangovan said that this election would prove to be a 'death knell' to AlADMK. With massive support from people from all sections of society, there was no doubt that the alliance would have a land slide victory, winning more than 210 seats, he said.

When asked about poll surveys, Elangovan said that the party was not bothered about the surveys, as the alliance was going to capture the power in Tamil Nadu.
