Election Observers check randomization of voting machines, inspect counting centre

The five Election Observers appointed by the Election Commission (EC), on Tuesday, checked the randomization of voting machines, and also inspected the counting centre located at the Government College of Technology, in Coimbatore.

The observers, who arrived in the city recently, had a string of meetings with the District Electoral Officer of Coimbatore, Archana Patnaik, and other officials.



On Tuesday, voting machines were randomized and handed over to the respective election officers of the ten constituencies in Coimbatore. The meeting was attended by the police officials and the representatives from the various political parties.

The machines were later moved to the strong-rooms.
