At the encroachment drive conducted by the City Corporation today, 25 cents of land belonging to public purpose were retrieved.
Upon receiving orders from Corporation Commissioner, Dr.K.Vijayakarthikeyan, the team of Officials retrieved 10 cents of public purpose land from Ward No:16 (West Zone) Gandhi Nagar, Vadavalli and 15 cents of public purpose from Ward No:98 (South Zone), Bharathi Nagar, Kuruchi.
"In a bid to retrieve all reserve sites at all 100 wards in the City, the Corporation has been conducting drives to retrieve encroached public purpose lands. Boards indicating ownership of land vested with the Corporation and also warning messages to the public to refrain from encroaching such lands have been placed in the retrieved sites. The drive would continue until all public purpose sites are retrieved", said Corporation Commissioner through a press statement.
