R.Lalvona IAS, Electoral roll observer was there in Nilgiris to conduct a review meeting with representatives of all political parties and with the district officials, in order to ascertain the progress made in enlisting new voters to the draft electoral roll, which has already been published and other issues with regard to preparing the final electoral roll.

The Electoral Roll Observer has been appointed by the Election Commission Of India to oversee if preparation of final electoral is done judicially and 100% voter inclusion.The special camp for enrolling new names or appending the existing details in the Voter's list commenced yesterday, the 6th October and will continue till the 31st October, 2017 in the District of Nilgiris.

Public were asked to make use of this opportunity to append their names, addresses or any other details in the existing voters cards, if it's wrongly been interpreted. While others who do not possess a voter ID and those youngsters who have reached the eligibility age, can also make use of these special camps, the official said.
