Movie tickets to get costlier from October 9; for a Tamil movie it would be Rs.207 and for non Tamil movie Rs.227

A week end movie for the Tamils is going to get costlier with the revised Ticket rates for AC/Multiplex theatres coming into effect from October 9.

While for Tamil movies the ticket rates would be as much as Rs.207 (Rs.150 + GST (Rs.42) + 10% ET = 207) for Non-Tamil movies it would be Rs.222 (Rs.150 + GST (Rs.42) + 20% ET (Rs.30) = Rs.222).

If booked online the Tamil and English movies would attract Rs.237, Rs.252 respectively.

Ironically movie tickets which were lowest in Tamilnadu with the upper limit of Rs.120 have sky rocketed with the recent addition of GST.

Sure it would poke a big hole in the pocket of ordinary film goer in the city.
