Married Women to walk the ramp at Mrs. Karva Chauth 2017.

Festivals today are no more categorised as per the religion it originates from, instead it’s the zest of the festival that an individual of every ethnicity longs to experience and rejoice.

'Karva Chauth' is a North Indian Hindu festival, which is symbolic to every married woman.

An event to commemorate this festival and bring out its virtue is the 'Mrs Karva Chauth' event organised by Amigos Siempre.

"Karvachauth is a very sacred festival to most of the North Indian women, we usually dress up like a bride, ornate the elements of being married, or “the suhaag ki nishani” like the bangles with mehendi and sindoor. Adorned in the traditional attire, we fast through the day and pray for the longevity of our husbands. And through, Mrs. Karva Chauth we bring all the women together to dress up and experience this festival through fun and camaraderie” expressed Sandeep, the Organiser of the event.

“This event is not a beauty contest but a platform to bring out the beauty that that lies in every married woman, who is often hesitant to showcase her talents. The participants who walk the ramp will not be judged on the basis of their shape or age, instead their enthusiasm, confidence and their presentation is what will be judged", said Sandeep.

“It was three years ago, the idea of bringing all women who observe Karva Chauth together came up. Though there was a good population of North Indians in the city, we celebrated our festivals very solemnly. That's when I decided to organize an event to celebrate Karva Chauth. The response for our very first event was tremendous. The participants who were mostly North Indians appreciated and encouraged us for hosting an event to bring all married women together. This year, surprisingly we have more south Indians participating in the fashion show than the North Indians. It's just so beautiful to see that women from all religions come together to have fun and celebrate their presence with no prejudice and inhibitions,” stated Pooja, the co-organiser of Mrs. Karva Chauth.

Mrs. Karva Chauth is an all ladies event brimming with entertainment which over the years has transformed as a much-awaited fashion show for married women who are celebrities in their own way and style.

Enthralling games, home decor and clothing stalls by home entrepreneurs along with an amazing fashion show is what you can expect on the evening of 6th October at Poppy's hotel.
