The draft photo electoral roll for the ten assembly constituencies has been published today. District collector T.N. Hariharan who released the draft electoral roll in the district said that it would be displayed at the respective booths, office of District Election registration officer.
Based on applications received till January 6, 2017 the electoral roll is published and necessary changes could be carried out.
The correction in electoral rolls would be carried out from October 3 to October 31, he said adding that eligible new voters who have completed 18 years of age on 1.01.2008 could apply for inclusion of names in voters list.
The draft electoral will be made available in all the village and town panchayat offices, Municipalities, corporation office, and Resident welfare association meetings.
A special camp to include new voters would be conducted on October 8 and 27 in respective polling booths. The applications received for addition, correction, deletion of names would be scrutinized and the final electoral roll would be released on January 5, 2018
While Mettupalayam assembly constituency has a total electorate of 2,44,089, 1,34,992 registered male voters and 1,40,641 female voters and 12 transgender voters Singanallur assembly segment has 3,07484 voters.
Valparai assembly segment has 1,98,228 total electorate, Pollachi segment has 2,15,670 total electorate. Coimbatore south assembly segment has 2,44,089 total electorate. While Thondmuthur assembly segment has 3,06,204 total electorate including 152808 male voters and 153342 female voters, and 54 transgender voters.
The draft electoral role has a total electorate of 28,61,536 including 14,20,408 male voters and 14,40845 female voters and 283 transgender voters.
