Under the aegis Swachata Hi Seva, (Cleanliness is service) a clean-up drive was undertaken in all the railway stations which under Southern Railway (Salem Division).
At Coimbatore Railway junction, the drive was launched by Station master in which college students, Rotary club members, Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers took part and cleaned up the lounges and platforms, wielding brooms and baskets.

The fortnight long campaign commenced on September 17 to spread the message of “Cleanliness is service” among the various sections of the people and to engage public spirited volunteers in national service of keeping the environment clean and garbage free.
Swachata Hi Seva clean-up campaign oath was also administered to all the volunteers on the occasion.
