The spread of dengue has continued play havoc in general population in the city 40 patients affected by the seasonal vector borne disease have been admitted and undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Medical college Hospital and other private hospitals in the city. 

While another 200 patients have been affected with seasonal flu and admitted in government and private hospitals in the city, there is no sign of dengue cases abating, which is cause for concern.

Even though the Government has claimed that it would contain dengue with urgent measures taken on eradication measures of mosquitoe breeding sites the viral fever continue to play havoc in general population say health experts.
