"Commission set to probe Jayalalitha's death is an eye-wash" Mutharasan, State Secretary, CPI

"The Commission headed by a retired judge to investigate the death of Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is nothing but an eye-wash by the ruling Edapadi Palanisamy Government" alleged R. Mutharasan, State Secretary of CPI.

Addressing the Press on some momentous issues in the State, the CPI leader said that "Despite not having a  majority, the Edapadi Palanisamy Government continues to rule which in itself is an evidence for the state of affairs in Tamil Nadu. The newly appointed full-time Governor of the State Banwarilal Purohit should intervene in such issues and derive at a constitutional decision. At all circumstances, the Governor's decision should be unbiased and without any influences by the BJP Government" he said.

"If the mysteries behind the death of Former Chief Minister Jayalalitha needs to be brought to light, the case should be handed over to CBI or a panel of retired judges. The present commission is just another eye-wash and only if Edapadi and O. Panneerselvam quit their posts, truth can be brought to light. The Doctors at Apollo, the Doctor from London, Doctors from AIIMS, then Governor, the Ministers, MLAs of AIADMK all have to be investigated" said Mutharasan, State Secretary of CPI .

"While several imperative issues in the State remains unaddressed, the ruling government is busy celebrating MGR Centenary functions in a lavish way" the senior leader of CPI pointed out.
