Gang of three get double life imprisonment in double murder case.


The city court here sentenced double life imprisonment to the accused of a double murder case.

Rakkiyappan and Vinothini of  Sulur were murdered by a gang of three in 2014 and the trial of the case was conducted in the District Combined Court in Coimbatore. The gang of three people attacked Rakiappan and his family, killing him and one of his daughter Vinodhini and gravely injuring his wife Sarojini and his another daughter Yasodha. 

In connection to the case, the accused Udathayakumar alias Kumar (19), Paramasivam (23) and Syed Abdul Khader (29), were arrested by the police and the trial was on-going in the Coimbatore Judicial Court. The court which delivered the judgement today pronounced all three as guilty in the double murder and sentenced them with double life imprisonment. 

Following the judgement, the convicts were lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
