Traffic violations such as overspeeding would be dealt with spot fines- Sujit Kumar , DC (Traffic wing)


"The bus drivers who are found to be over speeding within city limits would be slapped with spot fines as a measure to check rising accident rate in the city", said Sujit Kumar Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic wing).

The new head of city traffic wing who spoke to SimpliCity said that complaints of over speeding have been received by the traffic police very often and such incidents contribute largely for the growing accident rates.

"To check this traffic violation spot fines would be levied on over speeding bus drivers and efforts are on to increase the number of bus depots in coordination with Transport department to stream line traffic and service condition of buses in the city" DC, Sujit kumar said. 

"Traffic police men who are posted in traffic duty are advised not to use cell phones while on duty. Regular monitoring will be arried out by the traffic police including myself", said the Deputy Commissioner.

DC Traffic Sujit kumar also added that traffic violations such as not stopping at the white line in traffic signals will be dealt severely hereon.
