Condemning that Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanismay has played into the hands of ruling BJP at the Centre, Tamilnadu Thowheed Jamaat has opposed the move to teach Yoga in all school across Tamilnadu.
“Whether it is ban on beef and cow slaughter or imposition NEET to the latest announcement that yoga would be taught all schools, the state government has been playing second fiddle to Modi –led central Government. “ said a statement issued by the Thowheed Jamaat here.
"As Surya Namaskar is part of the yoga to be taught in school, the Muslim communities would be offended, as it is against the tenets of Islam, who bow before none but Allah." the statement said.
"The religious practices of one religions should not imposed on others in a secular country like India. The Tamilnadu Government should go back on the move to teach yoga across schools in Tamilnadu” the statement further said.
