CCMC Commissioner K.Vijayakarthikeyan convened a review meeting to augment drinking water supply from the current 40MLD (million liters per day) to 80 MLD in various wards of the civic body.
The storage in drinking water resources and reservoirs have improved and the CCMC commissioner took stock of the situation in Siruvani, Pillur 1 and 2 and Aliyar drinking water projects which are the life line for the city denizens.

Instructing the officials to supervise the augmented drinking water supply, the commissioner ordered that special focus be given to Singanallur, Peelamedu, Ondipudur and Puliakulam to enable regular drinking water supply in these areas.
It may be noted that the summer months have been very hard for the city denizens due to erractic and truncated water supply in many wards of the civic body.
Deputy commissioner P. Gandhimathi, Superintending Engineers took part in the meeting.
