The circumstances leading to the death of erstwhile chief minister Jayalalithaa has been subject of debate for long among the people of Tamilnadu and since her hospitalisation exactly a year back.
The veil of secrecy which was maintained by the Jayalalithaa’s former live in aide VK Sasikala, and her cohorts during the 70- day long hospitalization which ended in her sudden demise had only confounded the people of Tamilandu adding spice to the mystery theory and circumstances in which the late leader might have died.
Adding fuel to the fire to the “mystery theory” is the latest statement of Dindigul Srinivasan, Minister of forests who has apologized to the people in a Madurai public meeting for giving misleading statements such as “Jayalalithaa ate idli"s and watched a TV” and “Our leader is in good health and recuperating” when Jayalalithaa was understandably lying unconscious or semiconscious in her death bed fighting for her life.

The minister has claimed that he and other ministerial colleagues and party men were made to dance to the tunes of V.K.Sasikala, who had an iron grip on the party affairs after Jayalalithaa fell ill and admitted to Apollo Hospitals on the night of September 22.
Jayalalithaa suddenly fell ill on the night of September 22 and she was rushed to the Apollo Hospitals in Greams Road in an ambulance following her sudden illenss. Doctors at the Apollo Hospitals diagnosied symtoms of pneumonia and sepsis which had set in in the body of 68 -year old leader, after her admission on the fateful night.

The iron lady had spent over 70 days in the hospital and was finally declared dead by the hospital authorities on December 5, 2016 and that too in mysterious circumstances.
The people of Tamilnadu rightfully questioned the utmost veil of secrecy maintained during her 70 day long hospitalization and blamed V.K. Sasikala and other leaders for being numb and dump during those 70 odd days.
“It was not done in the case MGR, Jayalalitha’s mentor, everything about his health condition was made public and revealed to the crores of his fans and people of Tamilnadu. But why such secrecy in Jayalalitha’s case alone?” demanded the people of Tamilnadu , who took to social and media forums.
If the minister’s latest somersault is any indication, it is obvious that everyone was orchestrated by the V.K. Sasikala and her camp followers during that critical phase, when Jayalalithaa fell ill and the party reigns naturally transferred to the next in command, which was V.K. Sasikala then.
V.K.Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dina Karan stand isolated now and have fallen on evil days after O. Panneerselvam and Edapadi Palanisamy joined hands to fight the coterie.
Will the probe which the CM Edapadi K Palanisamy has promised to order into the death of Jayalalithaa bring out the truth in the end and put a full stop to all the wild speculations surrounding her sudden death? Only time wlll tell.
