A 28-year-old businessman and a 52-year-old security guard were killed on Sunday morning after the car the former was travelling in hit a moped near PSG Sarvajana School on Avinashi Road and came to a halt dashing against the school compound wall.
The deceased were identified as R Deepak, 28, of Alamelu Nagar on Kamarajar Road near Uppilipalayam and T Kenley, 54, of Sripathi Nagar near Ramanathapuram.
Police said Deepak was travelling with his friend Gautham, of Tirupur, in a luxury car. Gautham was at the wheels. He was allegedly driving at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle, which hit the moped that Kenley was riding near PSG Sarvajana School on Avinashi Road.
Kenley, a security guard with a private bank ATM centre on Pioneer Mill Road, was thrown off from the moped and died on the spot.
