Stake holders from various parts of the State came together for a discussion on the draft of the proposed Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Act and Rules – 2017, which is expected to create ease of business in the industrial sector.
Headed by the three Ministers and four IAS officers in Coimbatore here on Friday, the meeting looked explaining the act and inviting suggestions from the involved stake holders so that changes could be made before the act is implemented.

Explaining the act to the industrialists, Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, Executive Vice Chairperson of Tamil Nadu Guidance Bureau said that the act has been drafted to reduce various problems faced by industrialists.

“The current single window system has been introduced to make necessary reforms that are required to simplify the business procedure and ease of doing business,” said Shilpa.
Claiming that the act would also include making everything online including legal proceedings, Shilpa added that approvals would be automated if delays are identified.
Karthik Appadurai from Deloitte India said that the act would give immediate approvals for ten categories including planning fire safety, converting land usage and building permission.

Various doubts were raised in the meeting by the industrialists including confusions in approvals for single and multiple blocks, expansion of city airport in Coimbatore and on land conversions and the suggestions are to be given consideration by the State Government before implementing the act after the 24th of September.
Suggestions can be sent to the State Government through written format.
The discussion was jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Tamil Nadu State Government.
