MLA of Thondamuthur Constituency and Minister for Municipal Administration of the State Government, S.P. Velumani on Friday sought developments for Coimbatore in various industrial sectors at a discussion held here.
The Minister was addressing the gathering at the Tamil Nadu Business CII – TN Guidance Bureau Stake holder Meeting on Facilitation Act and Rules 2017.
Pitching for growth in the Tex-city, Minister Velumani jointly requested Minister for Rural Industries P. Benjamin and M.C. Sampath, Minister for Industries to bring in new projects in Coimbatore to improve business and jobs in the District.

“The Chief Minister has been very helpful to Coimbatore and has approved every development project for Coimbatore including the much awaited Athikadavu Avinashi water scheme and various infrastructural developments. But we still need more jobs and business,” said the Minister.
He further added that the State Government was also holding talks with the stake holders involved in the airport expansion and said that solutions would be arrived at sooner.

“There are new projects coming for Coimbatore. An integrated bus stand is to be set up soon, the Lorry Shed is to be shifted. These would help us grow in many ways,” he opined.
With opposition taking out an all out attack on the ruling AIADMK, the Minister for Rural Administration S.P. Velumani claimed that nothing can stop the Government from functioning. The Minister informed that the Government was functioning in full swing despite hardships adding that no power is capable of overpowering the State.
Talking about the reported tough political situation in the State under which the Government was running, Minister Velumani added that the performance of the State has been swift and flawless.
“We have been bringing in various development works for Tamil Nadu including new constructions, reduction of GST taxes and increasing the infrastructure,” he said.
